Settings

Change them with PATCH /v1/databases/{id}, or in Studio's database settings. They apply to every database the branch serves.

• max_rows caps the rows a select returns (a limit above it is clamped), and the rows a write's returning returns.
• statement_timeout_ms also sets Postgres's transaction_timeout, so it bounds the whole request: a batch of 50 operations shares one timeout, not 50. A request past it answers 504 timeout.
• max_connections is per branch: one budget shared by that branch's database pools.
• default_schema is per Postgres database (public by default). See Serving more databases.

Every setting takes up to 60 seconds to take effect (the connection-info cache).
